This route is named because in the month of May decorated maypoles stand along this route; this tradition is still lovingly maintained by young and old. With a length of 45.5 kilometers, you have many opportunities to discover the culture of East Frisia, and there is also plenty for children to experience. A visit to the "Archaeological Exhibition" in Villa Poken and an exploration of the largest contiguous forest area in East Frisia with the deserted village "Kloster Barthe" and the adventure playground "Sieben Bergen". Along the entire route, you will discover some decorated maypoles in May. You will ride through a diverse landscape (nodes 51, 52, 53, 38, 44) with lush meadows, hedgerows, and typical East Frisian canals.
