The 2nd stage leads you from Stickhausen Castle to Apen. You walk through green farming communities and river courses. Meadows and fields accompany you, but also nature reserves and canals cross your path. At the end of the stage, you walk along the Aper Tief and see the influences of the tides even in the green inland.

The 2nd stage starts at Stickhausen Castle. Of the former complex, only the fortified tower remains today. It houses a museum that deals with local history and the former local birdlife. You walk once through Velde, past Stickhausen-Velde Railway Station (private property) as well as past farms and fields. After a few meters, you reach the Nordgeorgsfehn Canal, which you walk along for a few meters, then turn right to follow the Sudgeorgsfehn Canal. You always follow the path until you later walk through small villages and past green meadows and fields, always in harmony with nature. You walk through the Vreschen-Bokel nature reserve directly to the Aper Tief. The Aper Tief is a small river course in the municipality of Apen. Coming from the east, it flows through the farming communities of Hengstforde, Vreschel-Bokel, and Holtgast before joining the Jümme. Along the river, two retention areas have been created, the freshwater mudflat and the floodplain landscape. Due to the connection to the North Sea, ebb and flow can be observed here with a tidal range of 60 to 120 cm. You walk along the Aper Tief nature reserve and feel and see the effects of the tides in the green inland. Afterwards, you arrive directly in Apen and finish the 2nd stage at the junction "Osterende".
