tide-dependent canoe tour from Stickhausen to Barßel via Jümme and Nordloher-Barßeler-Tief, route 12.6 km, duration approx. 3 hours.

The canoe tour leads along the Jümme and the Barßeler Tief towards Barßel. The Jümme makes a wide bend around the town of Detern. After about 45 minutes of paddling, the confluence with the Aper Tief is reached. For a break, there is a resting pier shortly after the first bend of the Aper Tief. Otherwise, the tour continues to the right. After about 1 1/4 hours, the next junction is reached. Here lies the resting pier "Scharrel." At the junction, the tour continues left into the Barßeler-Nordloher Tief. The entrance to the Barßel harbor is reached after about another hour. The destination, the Paddle-and-Pedal station Barßel, is on the right side.

If the tide time does not fit the daily schedule, the tour can usually be reversed and paddled downstream from Barßel to Stickhausen.

Safety guidelines

All participants should be able to swim confidently.
Alcohol consumption is not allowed on the water.
Keep distance from other watercraft. Canoes always have to yield and are sometimes poorly seen by motorboat drivers.
Start time must be coordinated with tide times to avoid paddling against currents up to 8 km/h.
