On a narrow path, you go past the draisine east station (with resting area) through a small forest area and past the resting area "Howieker Inhanger" to the Howiek watermill. The Howiek watermill was built in 1608, and there are many interesting stories surrounding it. The route continues on a nice narrow path over Karlshofer Straße, which is partly still paved with the original bricks, to the bathing lake "Karlshof." On warm days, a refreshment here is really pleasant. From the bathing lake, the route continues on the former "horse railway." On this path, in earlier years, peat was transported from the Fintlandsmoor to the Ocholt train station using carts. Since these carts were still pulled by horses in the early years of the last century, this path is still called the "horse railway" today. Past the fire station and along behind the school, it goes back to the starting point at the Westerstede-Ocholt train station. There is a café and shopping facilities there. The route is varied and mostly wooded or runs along hedgerows. An alternative starting point is near the watermill. Free parking is available here at the corner of Karlshofer Straße – Up de Höh.
