Fest der 1000 Laternen
Flea Market in the Town Center
As early as Sunday morning, Bahnhofstraße, Mühlenstraße, and Poststraße are transformed into a large flea market stretch filled with bric-a-brac, rarities, and little surprises. Amid private stalls, collectibles, and unique finds, the market invites you to browse, haggle, and discover right in the heart of Augustfehn.
Ecumenical Open-Air Service
On Sunday morning, the fountain area on Mühlenstraße becomes a place for gathering, reflection, and fellowship. The traditional ecumenical service, organized by the local church congregations, has been an integral part of the “Festival of 1,000 Lanterns” for many years and offers a moment of tranquility during the festival weekend.
Company and Club Afternoon with Tug-of-War
In the afternoon, team spirit takes center stage: In the big tug-of-war, companies, clubs, neighborhood associations, and groups of friends compete for the coveted Augustfehner Challenge Cup. With plenty of strength, good cheer, and lots of fun, participants pull for victory and cheer each other on. The program is traditionally accompanied by the Augustfehner Drum & Marching Band DRUMBA. Visitors can also look forward to a raffle with numerous prizes.
