The "Freshwater Watt Aper Tief" nature reserve, which has existed since 1994, is 75 ha. It lies south of the Aper Tief between Hengstforde and Vreschen-Bokel. Its dike was moved south in 2005, so that adjacent meadows are flooded at high tide. This created an impressive floodplain landscape with freshwater mudflats and floodplain forests, which is unique in the northwest and offers a home to many fish and bird species. Since the Aper Tief is only approx. 50 km from the North Sea, you can also experience the ebb and flow of the waters closely.
A paradise for anglers and nature lovers!
