To highlight these locations and bring them to the public’s attention, signage was deliberately omitted, as a purely informative presentation would not do justice to the emotional value of the various sites. Instead, artistic installations point to the locations and highlight their significance. They were created by the Oldenburg artist Jörg Ridderbusch. All the works are made of steel and reflect the locations where they stand. The material fits well with the community, which has close ties to this material through its ironworks and steel mill. With humor and playfulness, Ridderbusch explores these favorite spots and tells stories.Some of the artworks feature audio stations where you can learn more about the locations and their significance in an entertaining and engaging way.
